Build Strong Client Relationships

Make it a point to get to know your clients as humans–they don’t bite and neither should you.
This will help take the sting out of day-to-day interactions, making it easier for you to get what you need. Host an open house in your department to show off your latest achievements to your clients over cocktails. The important piece here is make it social so people feel relaxed and let their guard down, not a presentation. I find it effective to have lunch with my internal clients when I have time.
It’s much easier to deal with sticky situations when you feel like you have a relationship with that person to guide you through. Have a tip to share with your peers?
