We are sad to announce that Bruce Rogers, who served on the InSource Board of Directors from 2003 through 2010, passed away on April 1, 2013. Bruce received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the California College of the Arts in Oakland, California, and began his career at the Ormond Shops, Inc, a national fashion retail chain, where he handled POP marketing, package design and direct mail campaigns. He later joined Atlantic Mutual where he led the creative department for over 10 years in developing advertising, marketing collateral and internal/external communications.
In 2003, Bruce attended InSource’s inaugural seminal event featuring noted design management expert Peter Philips, and it was clear from the start that he would be more than an observer. His radio-friendly baritone cut through the audience from the back row as he shared strategies on enhancing the credibility of his internal creative team. In one particular story, Bruce recounted how he often extended a hand and invited his top tier agencies out for lunch in an effort to bridge the competitive gap that often exists between the in-house team and external agency. By the end of that event, Bruce had signed on to become one of InSource’s original Board members, and his participation was integral to the organization during its formative years.
